CAR parks in a town centre are now more convenient to use after new payment machines were installed. Newly installed machines at Market Quay, Osborn Road multi-storey and the Shoppers multi-story car parks in Fareham now mean that contactless payments can be accepted. Each of the car parks also still offer cash or card chip and pin payments but the council says the move has been made to keep drivers safe . Drivers at Market Quay and Osborn Road can choose whether to pay by foot within the car park or to pay at the barrier as they exit and all three locations are set up for ‘quick exit’, meaning that once you have paid, when you drive to the barrier, it will be raised automatically.
