Operation Anzac Day 2021 was established to ensure the community could commemorate today (Sunday 25 April 2021) safely and events were conducted in line with current Public Health Orders. In Sydney’s CBD, general duties police patrolled event areas with assistance from specialist police, including the Public Order and Riot Squad, Operations Support Group, Mounted Unit, PolAir, Licensing Police, Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, and the Police Transport Command. The police operation for the 43 rd annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade has concluded. A high-visibility operation was launched across the operation footprint which included Moore Park, Oxford Street, Hyde Park and public transport routes to and from the area. Due to COVID-19, the traditional Mardi Gras parade was replaced by a ticketed, COVID-safe event within the Sydney Cricket Stadium (SCG) at Moore Park today (Saturday 6 March 2021). This ensured COVID-safe protocols could be adhered to, including contact tracing and social distancing. Date Time Operation Bathurst 500 launched in leadup to championship event at Bathurst Police have launched a high-visibility operation in the state’s Central Tablelands as race enthusiasts prepare for the 2021 Supercars Championship season launch. Round one of the Repco Supercars Championship will commence at Mount Panorama, Bathurst, today (Friday 26 February 2021). The event consists of three days of Supercars and Support category racing, followed by two private ride days. Western Region Commander, Acting Assistant Commissioner Peter McKenna, was joined by Supercars Australia Chief Operating Officer Shane Howard and Bathurst Mayor, Councillor Bobby Bourke, to officially launch Operation Bathurst 500.
