The Scottish Licensed Trade Association has teamed up with VisitScotland and drinks companies Diageo and Tennent’s to launch Scotland’s Pubs and Bars – A Story to Tell, a campaign that will see around 100 of the country’s most fascinating pubs secure a spot on a dedicated website, an accompanying app, as well as daily updates on social media. ....
THE five-star judging panel for the Montgomeryshire Community Awards has been announced. The inaugural awards, which are being run in partnership with the Powys County Times, celebrates the achievements of individuals and groups who have worked tirelessly, without publicity or self-interest, to make the area a better place. The winners will be rewarded with prizes sponsored by Charlies Stores, Express Cafe, Iceland, CellPath, and M.P. Foulkes. Published on Licensed Trade Charity, which supports pub, bar and brewery people, is bolstering its services for job seekers as the covid-19 pandemic continues to hit the hospitality sector hard. The Charity, which has seen demand for help from current and former industry workers increase from 10,000 a year in 2018 to over 70,000 in 2020, has partnered with a number of companies including Hospitality Jobs UK (HJUK), a hospitality specific job board which advertises hospitality roles across the UK. The partnership with HJUK will provide hospitality jobseekers with invaluable advice, guidance and insight. It kicks off this month with a series of talks, entitled Everything You Need to Know About the Jobseeker Journey, co-hosted by Dawn Redman, founder and director of Hospitality Jobs UK and Carolyn Jenkinson, head of charity services at the Licensed Trade Charity.
