In addition, one foreign investor may only establish up to two joint ventures that produce the same category of whole vehicle products within Mainland China.

Muscat: A new way for people with diabetes to cure themselves of their condition, new energy-saving ways to cool homes in hot countries like Oman, and better methods to generate renewable energy are among the 12 projects to have been awarded at this year’s National Research Awards.
The awards honour research done by those who come up with ideas across a number of fields, including healthcare, transportation, energy, the environment, computing, and many others, which benefit the lives of society. Muscat: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation announced the winners of the seventh edition of the Annual Research Forum on Monday.
The function was held under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham bin Tarik Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth.
Twelve projects won the national research awards in six research fields, including Culture and Human and Basic Sciences; Education and Human Resources, Energy and Industry, Environment and Biological Resources, Health and Social Services and Communication and Information Systems.
The new logo of Oman Animal and Plant Genetic Resources Centre (Mawarid) was launched on the sidelines of the forum. ....

This commentary considers the access to food component of the draft UNIDROIT/FAO/IFAD Legal Guide on Agricultural Land Investment Contracts (Guide) and voices its silence on intellectual property rights (IPRs). In the past decade, foreign investors have increased the number of investments in the long-term lease of arable land, especially in Africa, and in the Global South, generally. The reasons for the choice of these locations include the availability of large portions of inexpensive agricultural land, inexpensive local labour and favourable climatic conditions for crop production. Muscat: Dr. Saif bin Abdullah Al Hiddabi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation for Research and Innovation, said that the preparations for the holding of the seventh cycle of the Annual Research Forum have been completed and the winners of the National Research Award will be announced on January 18, 2021.
