BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) â The Erie County Department of Health says the high school wrestling season should be postponed until later in the year.
Dr. Burstein said several factors went into the recommendation.
First, she said Erie County s COVID-19 transmission rates are still too high to allow wrestling to pick back up. As our numbers are decreasing and our rates are decreasing, Dr. Burstein said. We can t wait to get below that 100 cases per 100,000 population over a seven-day period because then we will be in a lower transmission category.
DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio 160-pound junior Caiden Hooks is not your typical high school wrestler.
He was diagnosed with eye cancer, bilateral retinoblastoma, at 19 months old and had both eyes removed before the age of four.
