A coalition made up of Buffalo School parents, coaches, and community members is throwing a flag on refereeing in protest of penalties from a November game that ended in controversy.
Section VI has rejected the latest offer from the High School Sports Officials of Western New York, according to the referee organization. Their current contract expires on August 31.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) â The Erie County Department of Health says the high school wrestling season should be postponed until later in the year.
Dr. Burstein said several factors went into the recommendation.
First, she said Erie County s COVID-19 transmission rates are still too high to allow wrestling to pick back up. As our numbers are decreasing and our rates are decreasing, Dr. Burstein said. We can t wait to get below that 100 cases per 100,000 population over a seven-day period because then we will be in a lower transmission category.
