Gaza war: Celebrities take actor's union Equity to task for backing pro-Palestine demo


Celebrities including Tracy-Ann Oberman, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Dom Joly tonight furiously denounced actor s union Equity after it openly backed Saturday s pro-Palestine demo in which protesters brandished appalling anti-Semitic placards designed to stoke up religious hate .
In a statement released on Thursday ahead of the massive rally in London, General Secretary Paul Fleming and President Maureen Beattie condemned the Israeli actions in the Middle East and called on union members to support  Palestinian comrades and join the march. 
But the Trafalgar Square demo has been slammed by MPs and campaigners after protesters draped in Palestinian flags were photographed waving signs which compared Israel to Nazi Germany and claimed that premier Benjamin Netanyahu surpasses Hitler in barbarism .  ....

NINE cops were injured as riot police clashed with pro-Palestine demonstrators outside the Israeli embassy in London yesterday. 
Tensions flared as protesters clambered onto the gates next to Kensington Palace during the demo as the worst violence in years raged between Israel and militants in Gaza.

Hitachi 800 trains were pulled from lines on Saturday as a “precautionary measure” after the fault was found in some Hitachi 800 trains, and Great Western Railway (GWR) and LNER advised people not to travel throughout last weekend and this week.
Manufacturer Hitachi, train operators and the Government have now agreed a plan to reintroduce more Class 800 and 385 trains.

Northern Line extension fuels property boom as Kennington becomes Zone 1/2: House prices rise along new London Tube route to Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms that opens in Autumn 2021
Transport for London (TfL) today announced that Kennington is changing from a Zone 2 to a Zone 1/2 station
The fare zone change means customers going to and from central London will only pay a Zone 1 fare
Those travelling between Kennington and city centre will also see their pay-as-you-go fare reduced to £2.40
Savills said move is likely to cause house prices in Kennington to rise as demand for homes in area increase
Data shows that the average house price in Kennington between 2010-20 has risen from £381,751 to £581,007 ....
