Curbing Covid: Malaysia bans entry from Bangladesh Staff Correspondent Staff Correspondent
Malaysia has imposed an entry ban on foreign nationals, including Bangladeshis, to curb further spread of coronavirus in the country.
The restriction will come into effect from today, said the High Commission of Malaysia, Dhaka, in a notice issued on Thursday.
According to the notice, foreign nationals who embark on their journey from Bangladesh, either by direct flight to Malaysia or transiting in Malaysia, will not be allowed to enter the country.
Vessels with a 14-day history of travelling from certain countries, including Bangladesh, will not be allowed to undergo sign-on and sign-off procedures in Malaysia.

He previously served as Assistant Secretary (Protocol) from 2008 until 2010, Assistant Secretary (Inspectorate) from 2011 until early 2012 and later assigned as Second Secretary at the High Commission of Malaysia in the People’s Republic of Bangladesh from 2012 until 2016. Mr. Ahmad Fikri also holds a Bachelor Degree with Honours in Management (Technology) at the University Technology Malaysia in 2006.
