Man arrested after armed police called to Ruskington He reportedly had a weapon A 47-year-old man has been arrested following an incident in Ruskington on Thursday afternoon. It happened at around 1.40pm on May 6, when Lincolnshire Police officers were called to a residential address in Station Road, Ruskington. They had reports from people visiting the private address of a man that he had become aggressive towards. The man was reported to have been in possession of a weapon, and had gone back inside the property. Armed police were deployed to the scene. Police officers engaged with the man and he left the address of his own accord, and was arrested in connection with the incident. He remains in police custody at this time. ....
The Lincolnite went to check out its popular Yorkshire pudding wrap. Rising Cafe, run by the charity Betel UK, is located inside Alive Church on Newland in Lincoln and has a team of up to 15 staff, including manager Allison Stibbard, and Steph Bisset who runs the kitchen. Ahead of reopening on Tuesday, May 18 the cafe asked customers on social media what they’d like to see back on the menu and the Sunday roast in a Yorkshire pudding wrap was in big demand. A TYNE Valley cafe has gained international recognition after being singled out by search engine giant Google. The Rising Café on Beaumont Street, Hexham, gained international recognition on Tuesday when Google in California highlighted it as part of an online event to award Guiding Star status to Google Local Guides across the world. Google Local Guides is a voluntary community (open to anyone) who work with Google Maps to update the maps, ensure their accuracy, add information, and review businesses etc. Peter Williams, from Lancashire, but whose daughter, Rebecca Burton, lives in Haydon Bridge along with her husband and 20-month-old daughter, was one of the 50 Local Guides chosen by Google from around the world, to be a Guiding Star – someone who contributes above and beyond expectations. ....
