Madhya Pradesh Man Arrested For Calling His Village Mini-Pakistan On Facebook
Raising objections over Abrar s statements, several locals & leaders from adjourning villages filed a complaint demanding action against him in Madhya Pradesh.

A man was arrested in Madhya Pradesh s Rewa district on Thursday after he called his village ‘Mini-Pakistan’ in a social media post. The man Abrar Khan (32) posted a picture on himself on his Facebook account with the caption “See Amreti - a Mini Pakistan. Raising objections over his statements, several locals and politicians from adjourning villages filed a complaint and demanded action against him. After the social media post came to light, the Rewa Police took cognizance of the incident and booked the man under section 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot) of IPC and Section 66 of the Information Technology Act.

The verdict is in from an early round of biggest electoral fight in the business - the Uttar Pradesh election to be held next year. The results of the recently-held panchayat polls in UP do not look good for the ruling BJP led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Now, for these elections, candidates are supported by political parties but do not contest as their representatives - which allows for parties to claim that their candidates did best.

More than 2.72 lakh candidates in the fray
About 10.27 per cent voters exercised their franchise in the first two hours for the third phase of the panchayat elections which began on Monday, April 26, 2021, with more than 2.72 lakh candidates in the fray in over 2.14 lakh seats across 20 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Polling is underway in Shamli, Meerut, Moradabad, Pilibhit, Kasganj, Firozabad, Auraiya, Kanpur Dehat, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Fatehpur, Unnao, Amethi, Barabanki, Balrampur, Siddharthanagar, Deoria, Chandauli, Mirzapur and Ballia. Voting started at 7 am on a peaceful note. It will continue till 6 pm. In the first two hours (till 9 am) 10.27 per cent voting was done, a State Election Commission (SEC) official said here.
