Book those involved in black-marketing of medicines like Remdesivir under NSA: Yogi Adityanath | India News

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday directed officials to conduct raids on those involved in black-marketing of medicines like Remdesivir and book offenders under the National Security Act (NSA).
Chairing a review meeting with his core team of 11 top officials here, Adityanath reiterated that there was no plan to impose a lockdown in the state.
He also directed the officials to install GPS devices on oxygen tankers and provide adequate security to oxygen plants.
The director general of police should constitute special teams to conduct raids on those involved in black-marketing of medicines like Remdesivir and Fabiflu. NSA and Gangster Act should be invoked against those involved in such practice, the chief minister said, according to an official spokesperson. ....

Adani Green Energy commissions 50 MW solar power plant at Chitrakoot, U.P.

Adani Solar Energy Chitrakoot One (ASECOL), a subsidiary of Adani Green Energy, commissioned 50 MW solar power plant in Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh. The plant has a 25 Years Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation (UPPCL)
at Rs. 3.07/kwh.
This commissioning takes AGEL s total operational renewable capacity to 3,520 MW, a step closer to its vision of 25 GW capacity by 2025.
With the successful commissioning of this plant, AGEL has an operational solar generation capacity of over 3 GW.
AGEL has total renewable capacity of 15,240 MW including 11,720 MW that have been awarded and are at different stages of implementation. With this 50 MW, AGEL marks the beginning of this year s commissioning plan with full commitment from its team, amidst continuing challenges of the COVID19 outbreak. ....

The family members of Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi are still being threatened allegedly by supporters of the accused, even two years after her murder.
Nusrat, who was set on fire in her madrasa on April 6, 2019, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on April 10 the same year. A Feni court on October 24 the same year handed down death sentence to all 16 accused, including madrasa principal Siraj Ud Doula and two expelled local Awami League leaders, over the murder. ....

3 UP police teams, 3 routes to get Ansari back from Punjab | India News

LUCKNOW/JHANSI/CHANDIGARH: Three teams of Banda police on Monday took different routes for Punjab to secure the custody of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, who is currently lodged in Ropar jail. Once the police teams reach Punjab, senior officers will take a call on the route to be taken to bring Mukhtar back to Uttar Pradesh.
Punjab’s prison minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said Ansari would not be given any special treatment and he would be handed over to the UP police like other criminals. He, however, did not say why the gangster was kept in Punjab jails for two years and the UP government had to move to the Supreme Court to get his custody even though he faces several cases there. A police contingent comprising PAC jawans, an ambulance with a team of doctors, pharmacist and paramedics from Banda district hospital, a GPS-enabled VajraVahan and three police jeeps will bring Mukhtar to UP, possibly by Wednesday. ....

Take custody of Ansari by April 8, Punjab tells UP | India News

CHANDIGARH: Punjab government has asked the Uttar Pradesh government to take the custody of gangster-turned politician Mukhtar Ansari, presently lodged in Ropar jail, by April 8. This was done in compliance with Supreme Court directions.
In a letter addressed to UP additional chief secretary (home) Avnish Kumar Awasthi, Punjab additional chief secretary (home affairs and justice) Anurag Aggarwal has written that the handover is to be made at Ropar district jail on or before April 8 and suitable arrangements for transfer of the undertrial prisoner may be made.
Meanwhile, a team ledby a DSP rank officer from UP’s Barabanki reached Ropar jail on Sunday to take back the controversial ambulance which was used to ferry Ansari from Ropar jail to Mohali court recently. ....
