New Hartford's Alexandria Corn Coming Home to Play FrogFest 32

It s hard to believe it was four years ago Alexandria Corn took the stage at FrogFest. The New Hartford native was part of our 29th annual festival with Chris Janson at the Utica Rome Speedway in 2017. A lot has happened since then and her planned return this September 18 at The Herkimer County Fairgrounds.
You’ll see the first change, orange hair. The second change you‘ll hear, a powerful grown up voice, honed from playing shows from LA to Nashville. The third change is more of a logistical one, Alexandria was immersed in the country music world of LA at her first FrogFest, she now calls Nashville home. Like everyone else in the music world, she found herself with lots of free time during the COVID shutdown. So she wrote music, but it wasn’t necessarily her usual style. ....

The Utica-Rome Speedway held an open practice session Sunday in preparation for its grand reopening on May 14. It will be the first time fans are allowed in the speedway since 2019. The reopening was postponed from May 7 due to rain.
We have been wide open trying to get ready, said promoter Brett Deyo. We ve been making improvements, new equipment, added clay to the racetrack and battling the weather all along. So we ve been pretty busy. It s about seven days a week around here right now gearing up for our opener, and today s our first shot at it with a practice session. ....

The Utica-Rome Speedway had planned to hold its grand reopening Friday night, but due to rain in the forecast, it’s been postponed to next Friday, May 14.

VERNON, N.Y. – The Utica-Rome Speedway had planned to hold its grand reopening Friday night, but due to rain in the forecast, it’s been postponed to next Friday, May 14.
The venue will open at 5 p.m., with laps beginning at 6:45 p.m. and drivers will be off to the races at 7:30 p.m.
Grandstand tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 65 and older and free for kids 11 and under. Pit admission is $30 for members and $35 for non-members. ....
