Neil Stauffer announces candidacy for District Attorney

CLARKSVILLE, TN – Republican Neil Stauffer, the current Assistant City Attorney for the City of Clarksville, has announced his candidacy for District Attorney of the 19th Judicial District, which includes Montgomery and Robertson Counties.
Stauffer has dedicated his life to protecting and serving our communities. As a soldier, Stauffer served on active duty for eight years in the US Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG) where he prosecuted criminal cases and advised commanders on a variety of legal issues. As the senior prosecutor for the 101st Airborne Division, Stauffer led and trained a team of prosecutors and paralegals at one of the busiest criminal law offices in the Army, and he prosecuted the Division’s most complex, challenging, and high-profile cases. During his time on active duty, Stauffer deployed twice overseas in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. Stauffer continues to serve as a Judge Advocate in the US Army ....

Melbourne s homeless population continues to rise even though City Hall officials and a multitude of community partners have never put forth more effort or resources to tackle the problem, City Manager Shannon Lewis notes.
The number of citizen and business complaints regarding the homeless, homeless camps and panhandling has increased over the past year, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic began, Lewis said in a memo to the Melbourne City Council. ....
