A handgun was seized and a man arrested as police surrounded a petrol station as part of a cross border operation.
Witnesses shared footage of a large police presence at the Shell Garage on Edge Lane at around 8.45pm on Saturday, with officers remaining on scene for several hours.
At least three marked police cars were visible, though witnesses said there were also unmarked vehicles involved in the operation. ....

POLICE have again warned they won t hesitate to take action against people who are reckless enough to breach lockdown restrictions brought in to protect us all .
The Merseyside force - which has dealt with groups of yobs causing anti-social behaviour in Whiston and Newton-le-Willows this week - issued a statement urging people to play their part and keep others safe.

Speaking today, Assistant Chief Constable Rob Carden, said :“We simply will not tolerate anyone reckless enough to breach legislation which has been brought in to protect us all, and if necessary will take enforcement action to stop them inflicting further suffering on the people around them. ....
