The Key To Containing Wildfires Will Be Human Behavior
Utah fire and elected officials are asking residents to change their outdoor behavior to cut down on human-caused wildfires. The request comes after a spike in the number of events started by people. So far this year there have been 227 fires in Utah that have burned 8,400 acres. All but eight of them have been human-caused. This year is already well above average in the number of starts and acres burned compared to the last five years. Officials are asking people to be careful near dry vegetation when dealing with things like campfires, debris burning and fireworks. ....

Utah community reacts after ex-officer found guilty of murdering George Floyd


SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) —
Reactions to the verdict guilty on all counts in the case against ex-Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin erupted across the country Tuesday afternoon.
Here in Utah, plans for rallies were already in the works. Utah Against Police Brutality said they would rally regardless of the verdict in the trial over the killing of George Floyd. Whether it would be a party or protest would be decided by the verdict, the group said.
Black Lives Matter Utah also plans to rally at the Salt Lake City Public Safety Building Tuesday evening. 2News has been informed of plans to march from the public safety building to the city s Fleet block, where murals of men and women killed by police officers are displayed at 300 West and 800 South. ....
