Dillon Francis has released his new
Very Important Music EP – a 5-track collection of VIP remixes of tracks spanning Dillon Francis’s career, featuring a fan-favorite ID of his 2015 hit “Coming Over” with Kygo, up through his 2020 single “Touch” with BabyJake. Also featured on
Very Important Music EP are VIPs of his Spanish Pop radio hit “White Boi” feat. Lao Ra, “Be Somebody” feat. Evie Irie, and “Hello There” feat. Yung Pinch.
The IDGAFOS producer is no stranger to switching it up between genres, turning all of these fun party hits into dancefloor house heaters with a huge summer vibe. Sure enough as festival season begins to return, these are the kinds of songs we want to hear as the sun sets and the music peaks.

Dua
Lipa‘s “We’re Good” for a spin in his latest remix, transforming the pop breakup ballad into a fierce house banger.
Dua’s voice serves as the muse, while Dillon counters her powerhouse performance with uplifting piano strikes and deep, rhythmic elements. He builds up the production layer by layer, before dropping the remix track into an unexpectedly gritty arrangement. Dua’s voice completely washes into the atmosphere out before coming back for another round.
While he’s well known for his transformative remixes, much of Dillon’s recent work has been collab-focused, including his 2021 single with Drove, “Places.” In 2020, Dillon teamed up with BabyJake and Evie Irie. Before that, he popped off in 2019 with Alison Wonderland, TV Noise, Eptic and more. In addition, he just revealed a collab with Illenium in the works.

In an era without music festivals, Dillon Francis is adapting to EDMâs new normal.
“The only tattoo on my body that means anything is this Grim Reaper with a feather sickle,” Dillon Francis says, pointing to a tattoo on his left arm. “When I was around seven, I watched ‘E.T.’ and had nightmares for two years that E.T. was going to tickle me to death.”

The new house remix gives “Be Somebody” an uplifting boost, with happy synths and piano chords completing the song’s melodics, which feel just like a warm hug. Meanwhile, Evie paints a picture of breaking out and being somebody something most of us can relate to in some way.
Dillon previously shared of the release: “‘Be Somebody’ is an ode to all the people that told me I was just a class clown and wasn’t gonna make it.”
It’s almost impossible to not have an affinity for Dillon and his feel-good records such as this one. Just add it to his long list of mood-boosters to bring us out of this 2020 funk.
