The global traditional PC market shot up 55.2 per cent year-on-year during the first quarter of 2021, with unfulfilled demand from last year driving the surge.
Consisting of desktops, notebooks and workstations and excluding tablets and x86 servers this saw the market reach 84 million shipments worldwide which, while up for the year, was down by 8 per cent from the fourth quarter.  ....

Located in Jakarta, the new IDC is now in full operation, completing the backbone access and networking of all major Indonesian and global internet services providers, and combining Tencent Cloud s own border gateway protocol to cover the entire country. Mac Shipments More Than Doubled in First Three Months of 2021 Compared to Same Period in 2020

The Mac experienced momentous growth in the first quarter of this year, with shipments growing by 111.5% compared to the same time period last year, according to market data from IDC.
The data shows that the whole PC industry grew year-over-year, despite the global health crisis and component shortages. In Q1 of the year, Apple shipped roughly 6.7 million Macs, representing 8% of the whole market. Just a year ago in the same time period, Apple shipped around 3.2 million computers.
Others such as Lenovo, HP, and Dell saw double-digit growth this quarter. However, Apple represented the most amount of growth. Ryan Reith, the vice president of IDC s Worldwide Mobile Device Tracker, says the industry has been hit due to ongoing component shortages but that the outlook remains positive. ....

India server market revenue fell by 11.2% in 4Q2020

The India server market saw a 11.2% drop in revenue in the fourth quarter to US$266.1 million (A$347.4 million), compared to US$299.6 million in the corresponding quarter in 2019, the technology analyst firm IDC says.
The x86 market brought in 92.9% of the revenue, a gain of 4.8 percentage points over 2019. But revenue fell by 6.3% to US$247.2 million from US$264.0 million a year prior.
The sectors that contributed most to the x86 market revenue were professional services, telecommunications and manufacturing verticals. In the professional services vertical, original design manufacturers and new-age IT companies saw positive year-on-year growth in server spend. ....
