Staff Reports “Good Roots” will visit Subiaco and Little Rock to delve into the ways Subiaco Abbey and Urbana Farmstead are creating operational income while simultaneously benefiting their communities. “Good Roots: Agritourism” will air during Arkansas Week on Friday, July 9, at 7:30 p.m. on Arkansas PBS and livestream at myarpbs.org/watchlive. An increasingly popular and expanding opportunity for agricultural producers, agritourism is a $1 billion industry in the United States and directly generates nearly 9 million jobs, according to a news release. In addition to generating extra income for producers, these enterprises provide social benefits for their communities. In this “Good Roots” segment, host Lauren McCullough will visit the Subiaco Abbey’s brewery and tap room before exploring the making of habanero pepper Monk Sauce. Credit Arkansas Farm Bureau Arkansas Farm Bureau and Arkansas PBS are partnering to produce community programming and local projects, the two groups announced Monday. The content, which will be called “Good Roots,” will focus on education initiatives, health awareness and supporting agricultural and rural community life. Major funding for “Good Roots” is provided by Arkansas Farm Bureau. The new monthly series will explore rural community life, agribusiness and how these things are evolving through modern advances. The series’ first segment will premiere immediately following “Arkansas Week” Friday, April 16, on Arkansas PBS and livestream at myarpbs.org/watchlive.
