More IOOF, MLC firms abandon ship More IOOF, MLC firms abandon ship A listed dealer group has announced that it has secured two new practices formerly under IOOF and MLC-aligned dealer groups. A A In a statement, Count Financial said it had added South Australian firms Adelaide Private Wealth and DMCA Advisory to its advice network. Adelaide Private Wealth was previously licensed under MLC-aligned Meritum Financial Group, while DMCA Advisory had joined from IOOF dealer group Lonsdale. “We are very excited to be partnering with Count Financial after an extensive 12-month review of licensee options available within the Australian market,” Adelaide Private Wealth director and adviser Hamish Zerbe said. ....

Stanley Yeo, IOOF’s deputy chief investment officer and head of equities, led the Invesco move and said the firm reviewed several index managers as part of the due diligence process. “Invesco was selected based on its high aggregate score across the following criteria: portfolio construction, implementation and risk management, business management, smart beta capabilities and environmental, social and governance (ESG) credentials,” Yeo said. “Further, Invesco has the necessary skill, experience, resources and scale to deliver close tracking of indices. “The scale of Invesco’s operations provides it with significant resources relative to smaller competitors.” Invesco’s indexing business was worth over $388 billion which extended across equities, fixed income, and alternatives. ....

IOOF lashes out at ASIC enforcement By Reporter 27 April 2021 The wealth giant has struck back at ASIC finding that one in six clients at two of its advice licensees were exposed to damages, saying the issues have already been dealt with. In a statement released yesterday, ASIC said surveillance had found 15 per cent of advice files at IOOF-aligned dealer group Bridges Financial Services, and 17 per cent of files at RI Advice, “contained indications of some potential client detriment”. IOOF had committed to taking remedial action after the regulator’s investigation had uncovered the deficiencies in December last year, ASIC said. ....
