Police in the federal capital on Friday claimed to have busted a gang of criminals, apprehending its ringleader and recovered stolen cash and other valuable items from their possession.
A police spokesperson said that Inspector General (IGP) of Islamabad Police Aamir Zulfiqar Khan had directed a crackdown against street criminals. Subsequently, DIG-Operations Waqaruddin Syed directed all zonal officers to accelerate their efforts to curb crime in the city. As a result, Saddar Zone SP Sarfraz Virk and Investigation SP Malik Naeem Iqbal constituted a special team under the supervision of Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) DSP Hakim Khan and DSP Zulfiqar Ahmed, along with SI Zafar Iqbal, ASI Safdar, Fayyaz Ahmed, Mohsin Ali and others from the Shalimar police station. ....
