Israel election results: Gantz says 'unbalanced' Netanyahu government would be 'a disaster'

4 He added that a Netanyahu-led coalition would be unbalanced and would not protect Israel s citizens.    Last week, Gantz said he would recommend Lapid happily, if I see it has any chance. In an interview with Ynet, Gantz said that he would join the parties that support Lapid s candidacy if the Yesh Atid leader reaches the point where he only needs Kahol Lavan s eight seats to form a coalition. If 53 people recommend Yair [Lapid], he will automatically get another eight [seats] from me without any problems at all, he does not need to call me – he will receive a phone call from me, Gantz said.

Israel election: An Arab teams up with corrupt Netanyahu, and folks are ecstatic - Opinion

Get email notification for articles from Odeh Bisharat Follow Apr. 4, 2021 11:11 PM Judging by the media reactions to last week’s speech by Mansour Abbas, the head of the United Arab List,  many people saw it as an effort to reach out to Jewish society. The truth is that it was reaching out to Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, leaders of the right-wing Religious Zionism party, in the hope that they will agree to bring him under the umbrella of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. That didn’t prevent the much-courted Smotrich from tossing Abbas’ gesture into the trash can. An Arab poet once said: “When you respect a decent person – you capture his heart; when you respect a scoundrel – he rebels.” Israel is no different. Judging by Abbas’ enthusiasm, we can assume that we will be seeing him yet serenading Smotrich beneath his window.

Israeli Arabs' self-appointed leader - Opinion

Samah Salima Apr. 3, 2021 11:02 PM Zionist Jews are melting these days at the idea of cooperation between the Islamist Arab right and the messianic Jewish right en route to Benjamin Netanyahu’s next government. The royal court’s best pundits are persuading Zionist Jews that such cooperation is the realization of Herzl’s and Jabotinsky’s fondest dreams. Take some advice from me, an ordinary Palestinian woman who dwells among her people: Don’t wait with baited breath for the speech your Bibi asked Mansour Abbas to deliver to pave the way for a government of “unity among cousins” after decades of occupation, grievance and hostility.

Gideon Sa'ar is a courageous man - Opinion

Follow Apr. 1, 2021 Gideon Sa’ar is a brave man. This has to be said. Because courage isn’t at all common – especially not in our current political world, which is inhabited by people who generally crawl before power and tell themselves some story to justify it. Sa’ar’s views scare me. He’s the man who wanted to close grocery stores on Shabbat. He’s the man who sees Hebron, where an unruly, extremist Jewish minority imposes a reign of terror on the Palestinian majority, as an Israeli city no less legitimate than Tel Aviv. He’s the man who, as interior minister, presided over the establishment of the Holot open detention facility for asylum seekers, then enthusiastically defended it and even wanted to expand it.
