The educator and public historian has written and contributed to multiple books, most recently an intimate biography about her iconic ancestor, Ida B. The Queen: The Extraordinary Life and Legacy of Ida B. Wells, which published last month. Born into slavery in Holly Springs, Mississippi in July 1862, Wells would become one of the leading civil rights activists of the era. In her book, Duster explains how the fight for racial justice and women s suffrage was forever changed by Wells, whom the FBI once described as one of the most dangerous negro agitators. Good Morning All. Now that SCOTUS might overturn Obamacare, Republicans must show (NOW) that they have a plan. Here are just a few ideas off top of my head. I would suggest people contact their Representatives to let them know that the political battle needs to begin today for Republicans. Ideas: · A low cost standardized $1,000 – 5,000 deductible, catastrophic coverage should be made available. (Agreed to by major Insurance Companies, given they were almost put out of business they might be eager to cooperate.) Negotiating for services by insured would help put downward pressure on fees for office visits. · Standardized insurance forms (companies should help given they were almost made extinct) to lower medical office costs. ....

Erikson Institute Members of the Cook County Democratic Party have filled the seat vacated by former state Sen. Iris Martinez. Cristina Pacione-Zayas, who served as the associate vice president of policy at the Erikson Institute until this week, was sworn in Monday night after being selected by Cook County Democratic Party committee members.
