THE next Ilkley History Hub zoom meeting will be a presentation and discussion about Cunliffe Road, once overpassed by a railway viaduct. Alex Cockshott, of Ilkley Local History Hub said: “Cunliffe Road is a street which has seen many changes. It was named for the Cunliffe family. A roller skating rink opened in 1876 and there was a cricket field on the other side and the gardens of the Lister’s Arms. Houses began to be built and then the Skipton railway line came across it in the 1880s. “More shops were built towards The Grove, evolving into the well known Mortens of today. Over the twentieth century there have been several changes of shops, the first Oxfam in Ilkley being there.
