'They're part of your family': Farmers fight cold, lose animals to low temperatures


As record low temperatures freeze the region, local livestock farmers do everything they can to protect their animals. We ve lost a few pigs, and then really the biggest has been the chickens, said farmer Anthony Barreras.At the Barreras Family Farm in Blair, Anthony and his wife, Mariel, told KETV Newswatch 7 it takes double to trip the time and cost to protect animals from this level of cold. Heat lamps, generators, things that aren t normally needed are really needed now, said Mariel Barreras.She said the family farm is still recovering from the polar vortex of 2019 when they lost 500 chickens and over ten goats. They also lost an acre of strawberry fields to flooding. You put so much time and energy into it, it s your pride in doing it. The Queensland Ambulance Service shared the photo on their Facebook page calling the heartwarming moment a “a beautiful simple gesture by our amazing staff.”
Two paramedics in Australia granted a dying man’s wish of seeing the ocean one last time on Saturday in Queensland, according to Australia’s News Chant.
The paramedics are being praised for their kindness and understanding as they took the man to Cleveland Point Lighthouse in Brisbane, where they were photographed by resident Neil King, Times Now reported.
King took a photo of the two paramedics standing on opposite sides of a bed with the gentlemen on it and uploaded it to Facebook, where it went viral within the country, Daily Mail reported. ....
