More beer on the way to Darwin after visitors drink bars dry

EXTRA supplies of beer are on their way up the Stuart Highway to Darwin after a huge influx of visitors have put a strain on stocks.
Suppliers and venues were given a run for their money when it came to stockpiles of keg beer as revellers tried their best to drink the bars dry. Drinkers, however, should not fret as stocks have been replenished across the board.
Hospitality NT chief executive Alex Bruce told the NT News the dry season was roaring after a handful of jam packed weekends - the most recent being BASSINTHEGRASS. ....

The parent company of Lion, which owns and distributes some of Australia s most iconic beers, has cut ties with the Myanmar military after it staged a coup this week.
Lion is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kirin Holdings, a Japanese company which had a joint-venture partnership with Myanma Economic Holdings Public Company Limited (MEHL), which is linked to Myanmar s military.
Lion features brands including Tooheys, XXXX, Little Creatures, Iron Jack, Hahn, James Squire, James Boag s and Byron Bay on its website.

In a statement, Kirin Holdings said it was deeply concerned by the recent actions of the military in Myanmar, which are against our standards and human rights policy . ....
