Erie Canal events on tap for 2021 COURTESY OF NEWS REPORTS The Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor and New York State Canal Corporation teamed up to sponsor 26 festivals and events in 2021 to showcase the Corridor’s nationally significant heritage, as well as the recreational appeal of the waterway and Canalway Trail.  Events include recreational activities, tours, concerts and heritage celebrations.  Locally, the Canalside Summer Concert Series will run on Fridays, June 25-Aug. 20, in Pittsford’s Carpenter Park. Music on the Erie in Newark’s Spencer Knight Park will run from 6 to 8 p.m. on Fridays, June 25-Aug. 27. Sound Waves on the Erie Canal is scheduled for July 10 at Lock 30 in Macedon.
