Last-minute shipping reminders, how late is too late
You re running out of time to ship your packages if you want to get them there on Christmas Day Author: Marangeli Lopez Updated: 10:55 AM CST December 21, 2020
TYLER, Texas If you are looking to ship your packages this week and get them delivered on Christmas Day, you may want to head to the post office earlier in the week.
According to industry analysts, a record three billion packages are expected to be delivered this holiday season.
This year there has been a massive spike in online shopping and a surge in package deliveries. Workers at USPS, Fed Ex, UPS, and Amazon are busier than they have ever been but they are working around the clock to make sure you get your package on time.
USPS Falling Behind On Christmas Deliveries
It’s an ominous sign of the times. Makes it easier to understand why your packages aren’t arriving when the U.S. Postal Service posts a notice like this on its website: “USPS is experiencing unprecedented volume increases and limited employee availability due to the impacts of COVID-19. We appreciate your patience and remain committed to delivering the holidays to you.”
The Postal Service could have gone a step further and simply said, “Good luck on your packages arriving on time.” That would have been putting it all on the line. All around the country, people are asking why packages are delayed. But let’s be honest, we began hearing warnings of shipping issues more than a month ago along with recommendations to get Christmas packages on the way early.
