Commissionerate Police busts spurious ghee manufacturing unit in Cuttack, proprietor detained Post News Network Also read: Police have also detained the owner of the fake ghee unit for interrogation, a police official informed. According to a source, a special team comprising of food safety officials and Markat Nagar police in Cuttack district raided the unit. Police have seized a huge cache of adulterated ghee and machineries. “After the raid, adulteration was found in the ‘Subhas Ghee’, a registered processing unit. Palmolein oil and other chemicals were being used to make the ghee. We also found some lacunae in the unit which failed to meet the food safety standards,” informed Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh at a presser held here in the morning. ....
Four bars sealed in Bhubaneswar for violating COVID-19 norms Post News Network Bhubaneswar: Coming down heavily on bars paying scant regard to COVID-19 rules, the Twin City Commissionerate Police late Saturday night sealed as many as four bars in Bhubaneswar. Acting on a tip-off, the cops raided a total of 16 bars: 10 under Laxmisagar police limits and the remaining six under Capital and Kharvel Nagar police limits. During raids, the police found four bars allowing customers to flout COVID-19 guidelines laid out by the state government. Of the four sealed bars, two are under Laxmisagar police limits and they are Swagat Bar and Mohanty Bar. These two bars were found openly serving liquor infringing COVID-19 norms. Apart from this, the customers were not found wearing masks or maintaining social distancing. A fine of Rs 4,000 each was also imposed on the bars. ....
37 Bhubaneswar: As many as four bars in the state capital were sealed by the Commissionerate Police on Saturday for allegedly violating Covid-19 guidelines. This apart, the CP collected Rs 28,000 from around 72 customers. According to reports, Commissionerate Police raided a number of bars including 10 in Baragada, Balianta and Laxmisagar areas and six bars in Kharavela Nagar and Capital Police Station areas. During which, customers were found flouting Covid-19 norms. Following this, the bars were sealed and customers slapped with fine. Earlier, on October 19, in a similar incident, the Twin City Commissionerate Police had sealed a bar on Infocity Road for hosting a birthday party flouting social distancing norms and other Covid-19 protocols. ....
