Women's Roundtable support group meets at Sutton Center

Community Support Services has begun hosting the Women’s Roundtable, a safe, confidential women’s support group in Port Clinton. The purpose of the program is to provide women a resource for learning, sharing and a sense of community.
Meetings are held on Wednesdays from 6-7 p.m. in the large conference room at the Sutton Center, said Barb Phillabaum, Family Development Coordinatore at Community Support Services. Everyone is invited to join the support group, and topics discussed allow for connecting, bonding and healing.
The group will periodically invite guest speakers to share their expertise. The inaugural guest speaker is Kimberly Brown, a dedicated Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor who brings compassion and kindness to her therapeutic process. ....

County Recognizes 11th Week Of COVID-19 Heroes | News, Sports, Jobs

MAYVILLE Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel and the COVID-19 Response Team recently announced the eleventh week of COVID-19 Hero nominations for April 19-23. Nominations are recognized in a video posted weekdays on the Chautauqua County Government Facebook page, and each nominee receives a personal note from the County Executive’s Office.
“We continue to recognize the selfless work of people in our communities across Chautauqua County,” said County Executive PJ Wendel. “I want to again personally thank our week eleven nominees: Brenda Leone, Jennifer Phillips, David Burlee, Malysa Battaglia, Sean Jones, Barbara Block, Kathleen Brown Webber, and Stacey who works in CPS. These individuals have risen to the challenge of helping others during a global pandemic, and are truly our COVID-19 Heroes.” ....

Judie Dike was walking to her Kia Stinger in the parking lot of Providence Mission Hospital Laguna Beach last fall when a maskless woman appeared suddenly, wedging herself between the 77-year-old and the car.
Dike looked down at the petite woman her eyes wide and face dotted with pink splotches who demanded her purse. The Laguna Niguel resident thought someone tried pranking her but quickly realized it wasn’t a joke. ....
