The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission said Thursday it has received more than 10,000 applications, but 90% of those were denied for various reasons. Some applications were denied because the person didn t meet the strict eligibility requirements or made a mistake when uploading documents and personal information.
If you were denied, OESC said it s OK to reapply with corrected information and attachments.
“We are thrilled to have started paying out the $1,200 to eligible applicants today,” said OESC Executive Director Shelley Zumwalt. “The Back-to-Work Initiative is meant to encourage folks to rejoin the workforce and find employment, and we are starting to see our workforce grow. The agency will continue to prioritize reviewing these applications and getting money into the hands of Oklahomans.”
