LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) The COVID-19 Risk Dial for Lincoln and Lancaster County on Tuesday moved to the low ‘yellow’ category.
The risk dial provides guidance for people based on the perceived prevalence of the virus in the community.
The ‘yellow’ category indicates a moderate risk of COVID-19 in the area.
The dial had been in ‘green’ since May 18.
Health Director Pat Lopez says the Delta variant is driving rising case numbers and hospitalizations.
“Numbers are clearly heading in the wrong direction,” she said.
The seven-day rolling average for cases increased from five per day the week of June 27th to 32 per day last week.
