LAHORE: The Punjab government on Monday issued orders for the provision of Ad Hoc Relief Allowance-2021, equal to 10 per cent of the basic pay, to the civil servants serving in the province. Finance Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo had written to all administrative secretaries of the province for sanctioning the allowance. The letter, a copy available with Dawn, states “The Governor of Punjab has been pleased to sanction Ad hoc Relief Allowance-2021 equal to 10 per cent of basic pay with effect from July 1, 2021. It further states that contract employees employed against civil posts in basic pay scales on standard terms and conditions of contract appointment also qualify for the allowance.
