Subscriber only Police have confirmed they are now treating the 2019 death of a little girl southeast of Brisbane as a homicide, two years after they ruled it to be likely due to natural causes. Sophie Smith died at her Mt Cotton home, southeast of Brisbane on August 1, 2019. It s understood Sophie, aged only 11 at the time of her death, had no obvious injuries when her body was located in what detectives initially believed to be a non-suspicious event.

The search for a missing mother-of-three who vanished after buying cigarette papers in the early hours of the morning has been called off.
Natarn Auld, 38, left her home in Capalaba in Brisbane s south on December 14 at 3am. She told a friend she was going to buy cigarette papers in the northern suburb of Banyo.
Police have released CCTV footage taken at a BP service station at Capalaba at 11.50pm the night before, showing Ms Auld checking out at the counter buying a coffee and food.
Detectives and SES volunteers on Wednesday launched a search of bushland in an industrial area at Nudgee, west of the Gateway Motorway, as police divers scour Nudgee Creek.
