A Port-of-Spain man has been ordered to stay away from his family and neighbours following a domestic incident which occurred on January 24th. Sherwin Bute, also known as ‘Ziggy,’ was given the order to stay away from the residence of the alleged victims by Deputy Chief Magistrate, Cherril-Anne Antoine, as part of his bail conditions, after appearing virtually before her at the Port-of-Spain Magistrates’ Court on January 29th. He was charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, one count of grievous bodily harm and one count of cruelty to a child. Bute was granted bail for $80,000. He will reappear before the court again on February 26th. ....
Port of Spain man charged with assaulting woman DION MC KENZIE - Courtesy TTPS A 28-year-old Sea Lots man who allegedly beat a woman last Saturday, making her fall into a drain, was granted $50,000 bail when he appeared in court virtually on Monday. Police said Dion Mc Kenzie of Production Drive, Sea Lots, had an argument on January 23 with the woman, who was walking along Production Avenue. During the argument Mc Kenzie is alleged to have hit her several times, and she fell into a drain, where he continued to attack her. He then allegedly walked away. The woman was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital and later discharged. ....
