ACE launches inquiry against Punjab EPA officials for mega fraud

LAHORE: The Anti-corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab on Saturday launched an inquiry against Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officials over their alleged involvement in a mega fraud.
Despite the weekly holiday on Saturday, the Punjab ACE summoned seven EPA officials while the EPD secretary was directed to provide all relevant material.
The Punjab EPA remained under criticism for not just its failure in fulfilling its responsibilities but also for the corrupt practices of its officials at almost all levels. The ACE launched the recent inquiry to probe mega frauds in the EPA after EPD Secretary Zahid Hussain wrote a letter in which he highlighted mega frauds, corruption and several irregularities being continued in the EPA. ....

中央生态环境保护督察组分别向湘桂赣反馈督察情况

　　2021年4月，督察组对湖南实施督察进驻，开展了为期一个月的第二轮生态环境保护督察。
　　督察指出，湖南省一些地方和部门思想认识有偏差，对生态环保紧迫性认识不够，存在畏难情绪多、依赖思想重、新发展理念树得不牢等问题。湘西州花垣县属于“锰三角”区域，历史遗留锰渣处置不力，振兴公司锰渣库渗滤液处理工程不正常运行，民乐镇、猫儿乡、排吾乡锰矿区污水处理厂改扩建工程建设滞后，部分含锰污水排入外环境。
　　湖南推进长江大保护不够有力。湖南省未按要求完成“十三五”老旧污水管网改造任务，生活污水收集缺口大，全省雨污合流制管网占比达38.6%，城市污水处理厂进水COD浓度普遍达不到设计标准。2020年，全省161座县以上城市污水处理厂有38座进水COD浓度低于100mg/L。

中央督察組披露3省（區）破壞生態環境突出問題-香港商報

　今年4月，督察組在督察進駐時就明確提出，這次將重點督察地方嚴格控制「兩高」項目盲目上馬，以及去產能「回頭看」落實情況。但是，面對督察組的檢查，可以說3省（區）都沒有過關。
　督察組指出，廣西在未完成「十三五」碳排放強度控制目標，六大高耗能行業能源消費量佔比、煤炭消費量佔比持續增加的情況下，「十四五」上馬「兩高」項目衝動依然強烈。水泥熟料等高耗能行業產能持續擴張，12個在建項目產能達1734萬噸，是「十三五」增量的2.9倍。百色市「十三五」期間萬元GDP能耗強度上升16.74%、碳排放強度上升21.4%，與下降19%、22%的任務目標背道而馳；但百色市仍在超規劃目標的情況下，新增大量氧化鋁產能。
