Child with brain injuries making progress, family says. Mom charged with abuse remains jailed. Updated Apr 06, 2021; A 4-year-old South Jersey girl who was hospitalized with brain injuries in February is showing signs of improvement, a family member said. While it seems the girl will have some level of permanent brain damage, she continues to make progress, according to her great-aunt, Anita Simms-Doughty. She isn’t been able to talk yet, but recognizes family members. “She’s awake and alert. She knows that everybody is around,” Simms-Doughty said. Muniz and her boyfriend brought the child to Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill on Feb. 24, where doctors found multiple injuries, including bleeding on the brain and damage to her chest, authorities have said.

Last week, on March 4, four of the five surviving Langley sisters, as they were known as growing up in the 1920s, ’30s and ’40s, took an important step together and received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill, part of Inspira Health. The Langley sisters grew up in Pittsgrove and Malaga, and all currently reside in Gloucester County or Salem County. They have always enjoyed spending time together, including getting together about once a month for lunch until last February, that is when the pandemic put a halt to this treasured family time, like it has to so many rituals for so many people.
