Flower gardens in Da Nang ready for Lunar New Year

Many flower gardens in the central city of Da Nang have faced difficulties due to the impact of COVID-19 and the recent severe weather. But local flower growers have made every effort to ensure a sufficient supply of blooms for the upcoming lunar new year, or Tet.
His 800 flower pots are the main source of income for Pham Ngoc Anh as Tet approaches. But his spending on pesticides and fertiliser this year has been higher than previously due to the unfavourable weather conditions.

The
personnel work was high on the agenda of the fourth working day of the 14th
session of the 12th-tenure Party Central Committee on December 17.
Party General Secretary and State President
Nguyen Phu Trong chaired the plenum.
Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Secretary of
the Party Central Committee, and Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s
Organisation Commission, delivered the Politburo’s proposal on personnel work orientations
for the 13th-tenure Politburo and Party Central Committee’s Secretariat.
Later, the Party Central Committee cast ballots
to nominate some members of the 12th-tenure Politburo, Party Central Committee,
Moscow (VNA) - Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs
Yevheniy Yenin spoke highly of the friendship and cooperation of his country and
Vietnam in both bilateral and multilateral aspects while receiving a copy of
the letter of credentials from Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Hong
Thach on December 16.
Welcoming the newly-accredited ambassador, Yenin said
he would cooperate closely with Thach to further develop bilateral relations.
He emphasised several initiatives from Ukraine to set
up closer relations with ASEAN, and proposed Vietnam continue supporting and
working with the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry to speed up the implementation of
these initiatives.

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam and the EU have experienced fruitful
cooperation in various sectors over the course of the last three decades, Josep
Borrell, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,
said in a message on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic
relations between the two sides.
Vietnam is among countries in ASEAN and the Asia-Pacific to have developed comprehensive
relations with the EU, he said, describing the signing of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade
Agreement (EVFTA) as an extraordinary step in bilateral ties.
