New Delhi: In the biggest upgrade of the format, the first ever summit of leaders of the four countries in the ‘Quadrilateral framework’ will be held on March 12, the Ministry of External Affairs announced on Tuesday.
The MEA press release said that the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be participating âalong with Prime Minister of Australia Scott Morrison and Prime Minister of Japan Yoshihide Suga and President of U.S.A. Joseph R. Biden, in the first Leadersâ Summit of the Quadrilateral Framework, being held virtually on 12th March 2021â. ....

Another Mumbai-like blackout? Telangana thwarts China-based hacker's bid to target power set

Hyderabad, Mar 03: Power utilities in Telangana have averted a possible attempt by a China-based group to hack the state s power systems, officials said on Wednesday. The preventive action was taken following an alert by the Computer Emergency Response Team of India (CERT-In) and a heightened state of alertness would continue for more days, an official said.

New Delhi: Union power minister RK Singh on Tuesday said that there is no evidence to prove that the Mumbai blackout was caused by a cyberattack. While a cyberattack was attempted but it had nothing to do with the October 2020 electricity blackout in Mumbai, said the minister.
The minister attributed the Mumbai blackout to a case of human error.
We don t have evidence to say that the cyberattacks were carried out by China or Pakistan. Some people say that the group behind the attacks is Chinese but we don t have evidence. China will definitely deny it, said Singh. ....

The Union minister attributed the Mumbai blackout to a case of human error .
We don t have evidence to say that the cyberattacks were carried out by China or Pakistan. Some people say that the group behind the attacks is Chinese but we don t have evidence. China will definitely deny it, Singh told news agency ANI.
Singh, however, did confirm that some cyberattacks took place on India s northern and southern region load dispatch centres but added that the malware could not reach the operating system.
Singh said that two teams had investigated the Mumbai power outage and submitted a report.
The outage was caused by human error and not due to the cyberattack. One of the teams submitted that cyberattack did happen but they were not linked to the Mumbai grid failure, Singh said, citing the investigation report. ....
