New Delhi, Jul 29 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday lauded the Government s landmark decision for providing 27 per cent reservation for OBCs and 10 per cent reservation for Economically Weaker Section in the All India Quota Scheme for undergraduate and postgraduate medical and dental courses from the current academic year.
In a series of tweets, the Prime Minister said, Our Government has taken a landmark decision for providing 27% reservation for OBCs and 10% reservation for Economically Weaker Section in the All India Quota Scheme for undergraduate and postgraduate medical/dental courses from the current academic year. This will immensely help thousands of our youth every year get better opportunities and create a new paradigm of social justice in our country. ....

A student studying for MBBS courses via all India quota said, “Till now, medical institutions were competitive. So, it is better not to increase the reservation as it will affect the bright students but those who can afford hefty management fees will make it. The rise in reservation will only mean that the number of seats will be reduced.” Another student said this will give more opportunities to all. ....
