Charles William Hoffner, II, 76, of Westfield, Ind., passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021.
Family and friends gathered for a viewing and visitation Saturday, May 1, 2021, at 10 a.m. in the Dawson Funeral Home, 413 Walnut Street, Olin, IA 52320, where the funeral service was held at 11 a.m.
A lunch reception was held at the Hale Supper Club at 5522 County Road E-45, Wyoming, following the service.
Charlie was born May 2, 1944, in Iowa City, to Charles William and Bernice Anne (Cave) Hoffner.
Charlie was a true jack of all hobbies, making a hobby out of having hobbies. And he was so successful at all of them. He taught Sunday school, built fences, restored houses, was a Navy brat, planted orchards, played varsity football, collected coins and stamps, built furniture, an eternal bargain hunter, wrote books, poems and music, talked to random strangers on the New York subway, restored an MG, invested in the stock market, fixed vacuum cleaners, led Indian Guides, studied ....

Thomas George Kankiewicz.
–Born Dec. 17, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio, Thomas Kankiewicz was a first-generation American of Polish descent. He served in the US Navy from 1962 to 1968, where he was trained as an Electronics Technician serving on submarines and ships. He later became a Corpsman and served in Vietnam, receiving the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He loved God and country.
He attended Pierce College in the San Fernando Valley, Calif, where he met and married the love of his life, Debra. He then worked at Vandenburg Air Force Base, moving his family to the Central Coast of California and achieving his college degree in business management. He worked in software development and configuration management in the military and aerospace industry, working on rocket launches and Space Shuttle software programs while serving God and Country. He loved spending time at the ocean, camping, gardening, and hands-on repairs. ....

Dennis C. Ward, 74, of East Dennis, formerly of West Tisbury, died Feb. 14, 2021, at Cape Cod Hospital. Born in Bethlehem, Pa., to Charles and Mary (Farrugia) Ward, he was the devoted husband of Rebecca Fritz Ward.
He grew up in Bethlehem, and graduated from Liberty High School. He attended Penn State University in University Park, Pa., during its football glory days, and remained a lifetime fan.
Hardworking and driven, he became a young regional manager for the Xerox Corp. His executive sales career continued with software security systems for governments and educational institutions.
Dennis approached fatherhood with the same zeal, and no matter the work commitments or length of his commute, he made time to be an active, involved parent. He could be found taking bread-baking classes with his 8-year-old, driving the extra distance for a certain ballet teacher, or rising for early-morning preparations for a horse show. Fathe ....
