New Delhi [India], January 28 (ANI): Prime MinisterNarendra Modi paid tribute to late Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa, first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, on his birth anniversary while addressing the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Rally at Cariappa Ground in Delhi on Thursday. We are holding this event of Annual NCC rally at the ground named after Field Marshal KM Cariappa. In 1947, his wit and intelligence helped in gaining a decisive edge in the war. Today is his birth anniversary. I pay tribute to him on the behalf of all the citizens, said Prime Minister Modi.

On the occasion of 73rd Army Day, Bollywood stars got together to extended their greetings to Indian Army personnel, and salute them for their selfless service, sacrifices and dedication towards the nation.
Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt, who wore the uniform for their roles on the big screen sent out their greetings along with Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani, who penned notes of thanks to the men in uniform.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Sanjay Dutt shared a black and white photo from his film ‘LOC: Kargil’ and wrote, “Saluting the courage and bravery of our Indian Army who has always stood strong, even in the most unfavourable conditions. We, as entertainers, can only try to portray your unparalleled commitment on the screens.”
