Indianola Promoting Data-Driven Decision Making

One of the focuses for the Indianola City Council and City of Indianola staff has been to lay the groundwork for future decision-making by gathering data on projects and procedures from the community. Mayor Pam Pepper tells KNIA News the community-driven feedback has helped shape what the future of the city will look like.
“It’s been wonderful to see how we are making data-driven decisions. We have done the reports, the work, the research, and now we are using that data to implement. So we did a public engagement feedback survey, what should we be spending our money on. They told us the roads, downtown, and parks, and that is what our budget priorities are. We updated our comprehensive plan, that is a great way to involve the community and get a sense of where are we growing, what are we doing, what are we thinking, and what do you think.” ....
