IndiGo is hoping to reach pre-Covid level of overall traffic, both domestic and international, by the second quarter of next year, its CEO Ronojoy Dutta said on Wednesday.
The carrier is currently operating around 40 per cent and 30 per cent of its pre-Covid domestic and international flights, respectively, and it does not plan to lay off any employees this year, Dutta told PTI in an interview. ....

IndiGo is hoping to reach pre-Covid level of total traffic, including domestic and international, by the second quarter of next year, said its CEO Ronojoy Dutta on Wednesday.
The carrier is currently operating around 40 per cent and 30 per cent of its pre-Covid domestic and international flights, respectively, and it does not plan to lay off any employees this year, Dutta told PTI in an interview.

India’s largest domestic airline IndiGo, which recently reported its fifth straight quarterly loss, primarily because of the covid pandemic, expects passenger traffic to revive domestically by the end of 2021 and internationally by mid-2022. However, structural issues such as low yields and high taxes will have to be addressed, the airline’s chief executive Ronojoy Dutta said in an interview. Edited excerpts:
