AMMON – The Ammon Arts Community Theater is readying its first show of the 2021 season.
The play, “The Curious Savage,” is a John Patrick-penned comedy and will feature a cast made up of members of the Ammon community. The show will take place on February 12, 13, 15, and 16 at Thunder Ridge High School in Idaho Falls.
“(The play) is about this woman whose children send her to this mental institution because they think that she’s crazy because she wants to give away her fortune to people who want to fulfill their dreams,” Ammon Arts Community Theater Boardmember and “Curious Savage” cast member Ali Rockwood told EastIdahoNews.com. “She goes to live at this place with five other in-patients who all have their own quirks.” ....

Joliet water service interrupted by several water main breaks

Many residents in Joliet remain under a water boil order Tuesday after several water main breaks in the southwest suburb.
The order was issued Monday after breaks were located in the east side of the city, including the Edgecreek, Neufairfield, BeeDee Highlands and Thunder Ridge subdivisions, as well as several neighborhoods east of Briggs Street.
In a statement, the City of Joliet Public Utilities department said repairs were finished Monday and that a boil order would be in effect until water tests show the water is safe.
The utilities department laboratory processed water samples Tuesday and will analyze them Wednesday at 5 a.m. to confirm water quality, officials said. The boil order will be lifted shortly after if the quality parameters are met. ....

On Jan. 4, the Dawsonville City Council approved the final plat of Phase 1 of the Thunder Ridge development, which will allow for the construction of 67 new homes.

At the Jan. 4 meeting of the Dawsonville City Council, council members approved the final plat of the Thunder Ridge Phase 1 development, which will allow for the construction of 67 new homes. 
According to David Picklesimer, Planning Director for the city of Dawsonville, the Thunder Ridge project has been underway since 2017, when LCG Residential LLC purchased a total of 137.42 acres of land, equaling 217 residential lots within the city limits. LCG Residential agreed to a density of 1.58 units per acre and a proposed house size of 1600 square feet.  ....

“He’s obviously skilled, but he can pass the ball really well and he doesn’t force shots. He doesn’t act like a freshman — he’s cool, calm and collected,” Pocatello coach Joe Green said of Bowie.
