Texas Concert Venues to Receive $100,000 Annual Rebates

The Texas government is extending support for its music venues and promoters. On Monday, Gov.
Greg Abbott signed state Senate Bill 609 into law, which would provide a yearly rebate of up to $100,000 for live music venues throughout the state.
Called the Texas music incubator rebate program, the rebate will come from money the venues paid into the state’s alcohol tax and the amount returned to venues would be determined by how much they paid in alcohol taxes the previous year. Venues will see the full or partial amount of taxes they paid on the sale of beer and wine returned to them up to $100,000. ....

Bay Area Reporter :: Haney's office hopeful nightlife fund can start in March

Now that the San Francisco Board of Supervisors has unanimously passed District 6 Supervisor Matt Haney s Music and Entertainment Venue Recovery Fund, his legislative aide is hopeful that beleaguered venues can start getting help next month.
Haney is trying to identify $1.5 million that can be used for the fund, according to a news release from his office.
I am hopeful that we will be able to allocate the money and get the fund up and running by the end of March, Honey Mahogany, a queer nonbinary trans person who is the chief legislative aide for Haney, stated to the Bay Area Reporter. That is just a guess, it could happen sooner. ....

The Music Venue Trust has announced that their #SaveOurVenues campaign has raised over Â£3.8 million this year for crisis-hit grassroots music venues across the UK.
Launched back in April after music venues up and down the country were forced to close their doors due to the coronavirus pandemic, the ongoing campaign is aiming to offer both financial and human support to venues during the health crisis. ....
