Thousands in fake money, imitation gun seized during a police raid in Orillia

  BARRIE Thousands of dollars in fake currency and several weapons are now off the streets after police raided a home in the City of Orillia last week. According to police, several units executed a search warrant at an Isabella Drive residence at 6 a.m. on April 9. After a search of the home, police say officers seized an undisclosed amount of cocaine, $25,000 in counterfeit Canadian currency, as well as a conductive energy weapon, a prohibited knife, and an imitation handgun. Police arrested and charged a 46-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, both from Orillia. The accused have been released  and have a court date scheduled in an Orillia court on June 15.

FEWER cars were spotted on ACT roads amid the COVID-19 pandemic last year, but the ACT government still reaped in millions of dollars in revenue off motorists from speed and red-light cameras.   The territory’s top-five earning traffic cameras caught more than 15,000 drivers altogether in the last financial year, according to a nationally privately-owned automotive publisher. Two men 'caught in the act of breaking into an Orillia residence', police say

  BARRIE Two Orillia men are facing break and enter charges after police say they were caught in the act of breaking into an Orillia home. According to police, officers responded at the Isabella Drive residence after an urgent call from the homeowner, who police say believed that two men were trying to break into their home. When police arrived at the home, they found two men inside the garage along with a small quantity of fentanyl. A 37-year-old man, and a 36-year-old man, both from Orillia, were arrested and charged with Possession of a schedule I substance and Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence.
