Jimmy Eat World is Releasing a Graphic Novel Local power-pop act Jimmy Eat World is expanding to the sequential art world. Next month, the band will release a graphic novel entitled 555, which is based on the 2019 song of the same name. Written by Jimmy Eat World frontman Jim Adkins and comic book artist Alex Paknadel, the science fiction-inspired story will tell the tale of a character named Klaarg, who “works for an evil galactic empire as an overseer of a cloned workforce and ends up battling with his own values as his purpose in the universe becomes threatened. ....
Mitski Has Written the Soundtrack for a Sci-Fi Western Graphic Novel This Is Where We Fall is out May 5th Claire Shaffer, provided by FacebookTwitterEmail Mitski has written and recorded the score for This Is Where We Fall, an upcoming science-fiction graphic novel by Chris Miskiewicz and Vincent Kings. The soundtrack marks her first full album of material since her 2018 LP Be the Cowboy, and on Friday she shared a song from it titled “The Baddy Man.” More from Rolling Stone “It was exciting to make a soundtrack for a comic book,” Mitski tells Rolling Stone. “It allowed me to work outside of my usual songwriting form and try to approach it like a score, but without any of the cues that come with working alongside a moving image, which ended up being both freeing and challenging. Earlier this week we exclusive images from one based on Dio s Holy Diver, and now Anthrax are giving us a first look at their graphic novel based on their 1987 release Among the Living. The exclusive previews are of portions written by Corey Taylor and Rob Zombie, which you can see below. Anthrax teamed up with Z2 Comics for the project to commemorate their 40th anniversary as a band. Blondie will release a brand new graphic novel later this year. The book is named Against The Odds and finds the New York icons working alongside Z2 Comics. Due for release in Autumn, it will incorporate references to some of their most iconic tracks, alongside a few deep cuts. Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti pen the tome, following their lauded work on DC Comics character Harley Quinn. It s set to be a busy year for Blondie, who are also set to collate their work in Cuba back in 2019 for short film and soundtrack project BLONDIE: VIVIR EN LA HABANA .
