The new ownership of the Aspen Club & Spa property and redevelopment project has eyed the winter of 2023-24 for its reopening.
Garrett Simon of Boulder-based Meriwether Cos., which is one of three entities in partnership on the project, said Monday that preliminary work is being done on the Aspen Club site to shape it up for the summer 2022, which is when construction is scheduled to begin in earnest. ....

New Aspen Club ownership cleans up debt

The new ownership of The Aspen Club & Spa last week paid off more than $30 million in debts and interest owed to creditors and construction firms for work and materials related to the expansion and remodel of the property on the east side of town.
“It was part of our business plan to get them paid in full,” said Clark Briner of Revere Capital on Friday.

Boulder group buys Aspen Club out of foreclosure – BizWest

ASPEN Meriwether Cos., a Boulder-based real estate investment and development company, announced this week that it has purchased the Aspen Club & Spa site, with plans to build a new resort on the five-acre property.
The company partnered with Revere Capital and Fireside Investments LLC to purchase the dormant property for just under $52.6 million after posting the winning bid last month at a Pitkin County foreclosure auction.

The redevelopment project of The Aspen Club & Spa will live on after all, but will its name?
That’s a question the property’s new ownership will be asking soon.
“Depending on our ultimate vision for the club, we will go through a branding exercise to confirm if Aspen Club is the right fit,” said Garrett Simon, partner at Meriwether Cos. “Obviously there is a ton of value in that name today.”
