Western Australia coronaviorus update: One new local case, partner of existing infection


Western Australia has recorded one new locally acquired COVID-19 case overnight.
WA Health Minister Roger Cook today confirmed the latest case was a close contact of an existing infection.
He is the partner of a previous case and has been isolating.

He is a close contact of case 1023, and has been in quarantine since the 26th of June, Mr Cook said.
So he doesn t represent any public health risk.
This means the total case numbers are now 1030. There are four active cases in hotel quarantine. ....

The tragic death of a young girl has forced a dramatic change in how parents are treated in emergency rooms when presenting sick children.
Seven-year-old Aishwarya Aswath was rushed to Perth Children s Hospital with a severe fever in April.
Aishwarya and her parents sat for two hours in emergency trying to see a doctor, with her eyes turning cloudy, hands going cold and her whole body becoming rigid during the agonising wait.
Her parents, Aswath Chavittupara and Prasitha Sasidharan, begged emergency staff numerous times to have a doctor see her but claim their concerns were ignored. ....
