The Missouri House voted 153-0 Wednesday to formally expel a lawmaker accused of physically and sexually abusing his children when they were younger. The removal of Rep. Rick Roeber, R-Lee s Summit, marked only the second expulsion in the state s 200-year history. The first was in 1865, when the House expelled a secessionist. The decision came after speeches from House Speaker Rob Vescovo, R-Arnold, and members of the House Ethics Committee who investigated the allegations against Roeber. The committee put out a report Monday confirming the allegations after hearing testimony from Roeber s children that he sexually abused two of them in 1990, when they were 9 and 5, and physically and emotionally abused all four. ....
